December 2024
Summer time and the living is easy !!!!
In October, November and December we celebrated:
National Carers Activity Week: Celebrating Carers Waterfront dining at Pelicans Landing, Williamstown
Seniors Festival Event:
Visit Aircraft Restoration & Museum, Werribee Morning Tea and bbq
Some feedback received from participants were:
“I would like to thank Wyndham City Council for the amazing opportunity to attend the B24 Liberator Memorial during the Wyndham Senior Festival. The event was well run and gave me the opportunity to learn about this magnificent restoration program. My knowledge has increased and I was fascinated by the story and journey of the B24 Liberator. The team involved gave up their stories freely to a spellbound audience. We were spoilt with cakes and a cuppa followed by a sausage sizzle.
I most certainly will be back for another visit. What a hidden gem!”
“First of all, I would like to thank Carers Victoria for giving us the funding for this event. Also, I would like to thank you, Patricia for organizing the event. What I enjoyed the most was the venue, it was a beautiful place to celebrate the occasion with carers and relax while enjoying a nice meal.”
Anakie Gorge Day Trip:
What a wonderful guided walk along through a unique dry gorge with an abundance of birdlife in the area and a picnic lunch in nature.
End of Year Christmas Celebration:
We enjoyed the visit to Scienceworks, Spotswood.
We saw of the science of glow and the fascinating processes
behind luminosity, including the many ways a glow can be produced the science of fluorescence, how animals can appear bright at night and the brilliant, coloured effects of using different materials
to make light. In the spectacular finale, a giant Tesla coil light up the theatre with lightning using more than 2 million volts
of electricity.
Planetarium adventures and dining at the Café.
