Changes in the NDIS in Victoria
In Victoria, the NDIS is set to undergo significant changes, including the introduction of new eligibility requirements and a new tier of foundational supports
below the NDIS.
These changes are a part of a broader effort to ensure the NDIS remains a sustainable and effective program for people with disabilities.
The new foundational support framework aims to provide support for individuals who no longer qualify for the NDIS, ensuring that no one is left behind. The changes have been implemented in April 2026, and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) will provide further information and support to those affected by these updates.

Learn When to Lean in or Back Off
Caregiving is all about balance. Staying centered and in the middle of the road as much as you can is always the goal. This balance helps you to be your best self and navigate the caregiving world. This balance also helps you know when to lean in and when to back off.
Being tenacious when attempting to reach a goal is an important skill, as is the ability to know when to back off and let things go. The balance between these two skills takes time and experience. Knowing when to lean in and keep going or when to ease up and let go takes some getting used to. Ask yourself the following questions and use the answer to guide you about whether you should keep pushing at something or let go of it. Your body, mind and intuition can help guide you in which tactic would be best to use.
How do you feel right now? Are you frustrated and angry, or are you in a positive, hopeful space?
